Illustration: A Beauty Salon Poster

By Olga Nayanova

A3 paper, black ink pen, watercolors, 2011

This is an A3 size poster of a beauty salon outlined with black inks and colored with watercolors. I was copying the style of a 20th-century Russian illustrator Ivan Bilibin whose works are characterized by a refined stylization of the motifs of folk and medieval Russian art, strict graphic quality, flat forms, and ornamental and decorative manner of overall treatment.
